EDI has for many years worked with immigration lawyers, providing its expertise in immigration cases involving asylum-seekers from countries of the former Soviet Union. These incude: Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
EDI prepares “country conditions” reports in eligible asylum cases in the United States involving issues of politically-motivated persecution, freedom of conscience, ethnic discrimination, discrimination against women and LGBT rights.
